Please accept this time-limited open invite to RCs Slack..Michael Mol ( talk ) 20:59, 30 May 2020 (UTC).The idea is to present solutions to the same task in as many different languages as possible, to demonstrate how languages are similar and different, and to aid a person with a grounding in one approach to a problem in learning another.
Rosetta Code currently has 1,091 tasks, 238 draft tasks, and is aware of 820 languages, though we do not (and cannot) have solutions to every task in every language. The Rosetta Stone was to become one of the most famous Egyptian antiquities in the world as well as an instantly recognizable icon of script and decipherment. In this exciting, beautifully illustrated work, Richard Parkinson tells the story of the Stones discovery and the socalled battle of the decipherers that it inspired. Published to accompany a major exhibition at the British Museum celebrating the bicentenary of the Stones discovery, and including a selective catalog of the exhibits, this book also examines the wider issues of script and writing in ancient Egypt and beyond. The Rosetta Stone is a fragment of a stela inscribed with a priestly decree in honor of Ptolemy V. The main significance of the text lies not in its content, however, but in the fact that it is written in three scriptshieroglyphic, demotic, and ancient Greek.
